The Mixed Platform Stack Project: Deploying a secure SOA solution into z/OS and mixed z/OS and AIX environments v2.0

Welcome to the Experience Report for the Mixed Platform Stack project. This document describes the experiences that two IBM test teams (SWG FIT [Federated Integration Test] and STG z/OS Integration Test (also known as zPET) encountered while creating, deploying, and testing a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution using the IBM SOA suite of products on the IBM z/OS platform or the z/OS platform in conjunction with distributed platforms. The IBM test teams were able to successfully deploy this solution in both environments and to conduct extensive tests in order to verify the correct behavior of the platforms, products and applications involved. This document covers the product configuration necessary to build the SOA solution described in our project scenario. In addition, the document provides useful hints and tips discovered during the course of testing to ensure successful solution deployment. Finally, the document provides an extensive set of references to other documents that proved useful for building the solution. The document does not cover product installation. This is the second version of this document. Version 2 contains the following new content: WebSphere Portal Server 6.1 on AIX and Linux for System z Linux for System z Dynamic end point lookup of messaging resources using WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (SOA Messaging) IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for SOA Platform Web Services Security WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition
