Excluded Transaction Table

Hi All,

I am in process of implementing a CICS CPU monitoring. The feature of CICS CPU monitoring Tool says that "it
compares the task transaction code with Excluded Transaction Table entries
which have been defined for that region by a CICS system programmer."

Here what do we understand by the Excluded Transaction Table entries ? Here In our shop we just define the transaction in a PCT table but we dont maintain any Excluded Transaction Table Entries.

Could anyone be kind enough to explain me about the Excluded Transaction Table entries ?

Re: Excluded Transaction Table

Jaggz,

What tool are you using?

The tool will have a table where you can specify transaction for which you don not want to have monitoring active.

Hello,

I am using a freeware tool by CPUMON at http://www.rizzuto.it/ but not able to find the way to exclude.

Re: Excluded Transaction Table

There is one file called UTILAUTH which maintains the EXCLUDED transaction id but not able to understand since the entire coding is done using assembler.

Jaggz.

In the $README member there is a section "1.2  CREATE CONTROL FILE" that describes how to create the
UTILAUTH.

In the "2.1  DEFINE CONTROL RECORDS FOR A SPECIFIC CICS REGION" section the file layout is described.
Basically bytes 25-320 contains 60 x 4-byte fields for excluded transactions.

Hello,

But the control card definition is just the VSAM ksds dataset. Not sure if we can change or modify the VSAM file to include the transaction list... Could you please guide me the way to include the excluded transaction.

Re: Excluded Transaction Table

You have too populate the VSAM file yourself. Currently there is noe tool to do that for you.

One MCPU record and one MXCL record per CICS region.

The record layout is documented in the $README. I will duplicate it here fyi.
