For many countries Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes the last Sunday in October or the first Sunday in November. You would like to understand the impact that the DST time change has on CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) and CICS/VSE. Your Java™ applications running in CICS might loop if they can accept floating point input in character format and need to convert it to binary. The CICS Dynamic Scripting Feature Pack is also affected by this exposure. If targeted, the request will loop within the JVMSERVER and never complete. The exposure exists in all supported versions of Java (1.4.2, 5.0, and 6.0).

After you upgrade to DB2 V9.1 or apply maintenance to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V4.1, transactions in your CICS TS V4.1 region start to fail with an abend AD2R ( abendAD2R ). The CICS exception trace indicates that the DB2 thread abended with an 0C4 Reason 0003EB60 ( RSN3EB60 ). Your CICS TS V3.2 regions are not affected by the change.

You are using CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) and TCP/IP. Your CICS TCP/IP port hangs and is not responding. There are no errors but all work on that PORT ceases. You have to close and reopen the TCPIPSERVICE to resolve the problem. This occurs after you apply OMVS PTF UA51856 (z/OS V1.9), UA51857 (z/OS V1.10), or UA51830 (z/OS V1.11) for APAR OA29566.

After you apply PTF UK54408 for CICSPlex SM (CPSM) V3.2 APAR PM06402 or PTF UK54373 for CPSM V4.2 APAR PM06779, your CMAS fails to initialize. You receive the following messages: EYUXE0001I CPSM subsystem (EYUX) initialization complete. EYUXE0023E ESSS address space not created - Invalid return code from EYU9X320.
